Steps to create a Manual Blacklist

Creating Manual Blacklists allow more granular control when optimizing a campaign. It works the same way as an App List (which can be used as a Blacklist), in that it ensures ads run only on designated supply sources by excluding App Bundle IDs and Placement IDs (for app) as well as URLs (for mobile web).

However, while App Lists can be used across multiple campaigns, Manual Blacklists provide exclusion only for the very campaign you are amending.

This guide shows you how to create one:

  • Go to the Campaigns tab in your account:

  • In the Campaigns list page, click the three dots next to the Campaign ID which you want to optimize. Select View.

  • You will be at the View Campaign dashboard. Scroll to the Running Apps segment. You can view the App Bundle ID, Placement ID, App Name and other information here.

    • App Bundle ID:

Unique identifier for an app on all exchanges. Typically, iOS Bundle IDs have a numerical format (e.g. 1617391485) while Android Bundle IDs have an alphabetical format (e.g. com.example.myapp). To get this value, you may use the macro {APP_BUNDLE}.

    • Placement ID:

Alphanumeric ID for an app which is specific to an exchange. To get this value, you may use the macro {EXCHANGE_ID}_{APP_ID}.

      Example: 10038-accuweather.com

  • Select the IDs you want to blacklist by checking the boxes, then, select Actions from the top-right corner of the table. Select Blacklist.

  • The list of IDs will appear as Manually Blacklisted App in the Black List segment of the Targeting section of campaign creation.

Note: Apps that are manually blacklisted will take some time before moving from Running to Blacklisted App section of the Dashboard.

Reach out to the Account Management team if you require curated lists based on certain criteria.
